The season is now officially over. It was a great season, but she is looking forward to a little time off from sports.

Two for Two
Here is Bubby at age two, going about 2 miles an hour. These were the days when I had complete control of all of his driving adventures (and his speed). This was actually his very first time "driving a car". He wasn't too sure about this......at the time.
Speaking of stopping....and PARKING!
Guess who got another Parking Ticket????
Come on now....I know you can guess this one.... Think really hard now...
Yep, Good 'Ole Bub!
And, as the title of this post indicates....Guess who got the ticket revoked...
AGAIN!
This time there was no space in the famous parking lot with the "S" (for student) parking spaces; so he had to go park in a back lot that is halfway to China. He parked in one of the "S" spaces and went to class. It just so happens that in this particular lot - the "S" is for Staff.
Cha Ching - Ticket number two!
Send me the Rocket Scientist that came up with this parking Plan!!!!
How about "S" having a consistant meaning???
How about a sign? Now, there's an idea.
Is it illeagl for me to go and flatten the tires on the parking Nazi's golf cart?
As I'm trying to calm myself to the point where I can approach someone to discuss this matter....Jake tells me that he has already spoken with the Associate Prinicpal and the "nice" parking lady, and he got the ticket revoked. That's my guy!
So, that makes us two for two.
*Note to Jake - I know you'll read this so.........NO MORE PARKING TICKETS!

"Gone.....like Yesterday"
I really enjoyed reading about the adventures of building the kids a "swing set" as told by my cousin Damon earlier this summer. These playsets are more like mini Taj Mahals. Anyway, it brought back many memories of the set we put up for our kids a long, long time ago.
The swings have been empty for some time now, and I decided that it was time for some new little kids to enjoy it as much as ours did. So here it goes - off to a new home with some happy campers waiting for it to arrive. Have fun Peyton and Ethan!
Sporting a new paint job - here goes the tower, slide and fireman's pole portion up the road. It just came up a GIANT hill and the car following it is driven by Jake. Yes, he followed right behind in my NEW CAR ! Hello, what if the thing slid off the truck while climbing up?
The A-Frame that holds the swings and glider was really tricky! We couldn't get it apart, so we tossed it upside down on the truck. What a sight this was going across town. Please take note of which car is AGAIN a little too close for my comfort.
Jake and a group of his friends really pitched in to get this task accomplished. Funny to watch the guys who once played here moving it across town and placing it in a new location.
Jake on the left and Amanda on the right with some neighbor kids -up on top of the world.
Jake and JJ swingin' in 1996. Good Times.
Congrats
There are over 600 students in the Freshman class - only 30 get selected for Student Senate ...
The first project on the agenda is the Freshman class float for Homecoming.

Forty -Four
Hey, Hey It's my Birthday!
This is the cake that my Amanda baked and decorated for me last night. She also got up and made me breakfast in bed. Pancakes. Yum!
The morning flew by as the phone rang frequently with wishes from friends and family. I got to catch up with a couple of friends and then had lunch with Judy.
My big brother called in the afternoon and sang Happy Birthday to me. Sweet. (I celebrated with my parents and brother yesterday). Candy, Mom and Dad also called again today somewhere in the midst of all of this to wish me a happy day. My friend Bonnie stopped over with flowers later in the day.
Jake, Mandy and I had a quiet dinner together tonight with cards, gifts and cake...
All in all - just a really great forty -fourth...Thursday, September 13, 2007
A Visit From Aunt Candy and Uncle Jack
Tonight, some of the family got together with Aunt Candy and Uncle Jack for dinner at Applebee's. They are staying at my Mom and Dad's house for the night on their way back to South Carolina. It was just a short visit, but it's always great to see the out of town relatives.

Homework, Tennis, and AIM
School days are the same old routine for Amanda- school, tennis practice or a meet, homework and talking to friends on AIM. The neat thing about this is the free weekends. Those are spent, for the most part, with friends. Sometimes the family fits in here somewhere.
No Tickets - Please!
First day that the high school is checking parking permits - "guess who" gets a ticket...
Okay, so I paid $140.00 for the parking permit on registration day. He was told to park in the Staff parking lot because he is on the FSO (flexible schedule option) program. They failed to mention that he has to park in the stalls marked "S". Apparently a reminder was announced in the morning, but FSO students are not in school when the announcements are given. They arrive late. So how was he supposed to know about this?
This was my argument when I very nicely approached the parking attendant. I also indicated that it was the first day of cheking the lots - how about some kind of warning??
I now know why the students refer to this woman as the "Parking Nazi" - she gets a zero in the personality department. Despite this, I did talk her into revoking the ticket.
Hey, ten dollars is ten dollars!

Bub
Jacob on his first day of Kindergarden in 1995. He was not happy that Amanda got to stay home and play while he had to "work". It was a great year and he had the most awesome teacher - Miss Larson.
First Day of School 2007
Tuesday was the official start of school for the kids, and this is the annual "first day" photo.

Tournament Day
Today Amanda played in a tennis tournament held at her school. She did an awesome job and took 4th place in her division. Good work Panda!
I helped out all day at the score table; checking in players, recording scores and re-assigning courts to players based on their records. No shade - just hot sun all day.
