Prom 2008

Jake and Hannah went to prom a couple of weeks ago....

Pre-prom photo shoot at Hannah's home.
Smile !
The kids were bussed from their school, to the dinner, to the post prom, and then back to school. All bags and carry-ons were checked by parent volunteers to make sure that nobody had anything (like booze) that they shouldn't have.
Tux rental - $160.00
Cost of Prom tickets for 2 - $150.00
Corsage - $35.00
A great time at Prom and a job at Best Buy to pay for all of the above - Priceless !!!

End of Season

Amanda's team ended with a 14-0-2 record ...Awesome Season !!!!

I got the local paper tonight and her name was in the sports section again for scoring a goal in one of her games. She wound up with 7 goals total for the season.

During the summer, her coach runs soccer camps for little kids and Amanda will be helping out.
Select soccer club tryouts are right around the corner and she also wants to work on her tennis game this summer to be ready for the upcoming season.......

Busy Gal !!!

Jake's Party

Jake started out his 19th birthday by skipping school to go to the zoo with Hannah. Her photography class was going there and he just kind of "joined" them. Her sharp as a tack teacher never noticed that there was a student that "didn't belong " in the group. It was a beautiful day and I'll share some photos from their trip when I get them ....

In the evening.....Jake, Hannah, Steph, Ellen, Amanda and I went out to dinner and then we had cake for him back at Grandma's house.
Jake and Hannah at the restaurant. The waitresses all sang to him after dinner.

A Dairy Queen ice cream cake - at Jake's request - with trains.

Wild Party !!!

Nineteen

My baby boy celebrated his 19th birthday today.....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBY ...
I LOVE YOU !!!!

Big Girl

Here are some recent photos of Coke.....she has grown like the weeds in my yard!

Tennis anyone??
Mine !
I wasn't kidding about the dandelions in my yard!
(This is actually the little 10x10 patch of nothing in the backyard by the fire pit- -my lawn does not look like this! )
Comparison photo- I posted one of her by Bub's foot when she was about 6 weeks old.
She is now 4 months old.
Princesses
with Bub...
Trying to get the perfect shot......
Someone is always not looking or fixing hair or something!
Oh, well...

Mother's Day

Here's a photo of my Mom on Mother's Day. Amanda, and I met
Mom for church and then we headed over to her house for the afternoon. It doesn't get much quieter than Mom, Dad, Amanda and I laying on couches watching golf on TV. Teddy Bear opted for the Brewers game on TV in his room. Jake joined us all later for supper.....

Flowers for Mom - Happy Mother's Day!
These are the flowers that I received from my kids for Mother's Day. I specifically asked for dandelions......
Jake and Mandy always came running in the house, their chubby little hands filled with these when they were young. They would get so excited when I displayed their beautiful gift in a vase on the table. I wanted some just one more time... they even had to pick them in the rain!
I also requested a hand made card. Their own message and in their own writing...
It was perfect !!!

Computer Meltdown

The "Geeks" at Best Buy want to know how anyone could crash a Sony computer --- "They are the best"...........????
Well, I did it. Don't ask how. I haven't a clue.......but, it's completely gone.

I just kept babbling "my pictures, save my pictures !"

Jake saved them. 30 gigs of photos. They now reside on an external hard drive attached to his computer. I know this, because he showed them to me.

This was after I asked him about 20 times if he was SURE that he had them....ALL of them.
So, I am still waiting for the ability to access, download, and/or print anything.
I have new photos of Coke, photos from Jake's prom, and of course..........you know..............wait for it..................................soccer photos!
Yeah, you're on the edge of your seats waiting for MORE soccer photos! Maybe, I'll spare you all on these. :)
Anyway, it has been a week or more and I may be up and running soon.
Maybe even tomorrow..........

Warning to Wisconsin Drivers!

Amanda has passed her temporary license test with flying colors......so
.....as of June 21 (her 15 and 6 month birthday)........
GET THE HECK OFF OF THE ROADS !
Oh, and you might want to wrap bumper pads around your mailboxes also....
She has a habit of riding the side of the road real close. I am always ducking away and saying "mailbox" as we go down the road, especially in my neighborhood where the targets are lined right up to the edge of the street for her.
Consider yourself warned.....
