Score!
Amanda and her friend Kendall are earning a little money scoring the junior high girls basketball games. Kendall runs the score board and clock while Amanda does the official book and possession arrow. They worked on Tuesday and Thursday this week and I did the official book on Monday with my friend's son on the board. I have also been supervising the gym for one night a week. The pay for this is great and it's an easy job. (Basically, I tell the spectators that they have to keep their popcorn out of the gym and I chase little kids out from under the bleachers).
6 and 6 - Saturday
I was actually up before 6 this morning.....Jake was waking up to start work and Amanda was rolling in after a fun filled lock-in at the school.
Jake had to be to work by 7, so he was up mighty early for a Saturday. He had time to fill me in on the details of his Friday evening and out the door he went.
Just before he went out, Amanda came in. The Student Senate had an overnight lock-in at the school. It sounded like a great time with food, games, and fun. The digital scavenger hunt and roaming Pictionary seemed to be the highlights of her evening ... along with the fellowship of her
friends. No sleep - of course -so she went right to bed for the day.
Now it is 6 again - this time in the evening. We just got the call from Janesville that the football team has won and will be going to the state championship! Amanda got up at about 2 and was out the door to the game 30 minutes later. She rode down with Jocelyn's family, as her brother is the kicker for the team.
In the mean time, Jake came home at about 3:30, went straight down for a nap, and he is now thinking about getting up to go hook up with his friends. Now, he'll probably be up until all hours of the night. Talk about crazy schedules!

Where's Saturday??
No photos from Saturday...
Our high school football team advanced one more step toward the state tournaments.
Go Warhawks!
I was in Milwaukee taking photos at one of the catering venues.
Amanda went to Kendall's home and then to a Halloween party.
And Jake's crowd.... well they went to Kyle's home because his "cool" parents allow co-ed sleepovers. This is a big issue around here.
Co-ed sleepovers have been "in" for some time now......I can remember Candy's boys talking about them in high school - and they're 24 and 26 years old now.
I cannot believe how many kids have guys and girls stay over on a regular basis.
I don't want anyone under 18 over without talking to the parents. So the kids go elsewhere.
The same with smoking - a few of Jake's friends smoke and I make them leave my property. I don't want the responsibility, even though their parents know and approve of their habit.
All of my "rules" come with a lot static from the kids....
I constantly hear about how "every other" parent allows the things that I don't.
Teenagers are so much fun!
