Weekend Wedding

Here's a new one ..... the wedding I photographed on Saturday took place at Miller Park (home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team) - right at home plate!

Amanda and her friend Ashley at the reception. The groom is Ashley's brother.
The ceremony. Everyone had to avoid going on the grass. The roof was open and it was a beautiful day.
The Brewer's famous Sausage Guys were resting up for Monday's game.

My brother Teddy would have loved to tag along on this gig. He is a huge Brewer's fan!

Yesterday...

Amanda and I went grocery shopping today and we got to talking in the car about "yesterday".....

A memory of life when the kids were little...

Amanda would always sneek out of her room at night and then crawl into her big brother's bed with him.

She started doing this as soon as she slept in a "big girl" bed at about age 2. This photo was taken when she was about 7.

He never complained about this as long as she brought her own pillow and blanket.

Bye, Bye Bubby - College !

We left Wednesday morning in the dark at 4:30 a.m.

Twelve hours later, we arrived at the final destination - college!

Here's Bub in front of his new home - ready to begin this new chapter in his life.

(we had to take this one for Nana!)

Hannah was waiting for us to arrive - she has been here a week already for athletics.

The dining hall and university center are quite a climb....

We got Bub all settled into his dorm, registered for classes, and ready to start school.

It all happened soooo fast.

I don't know which was worse - leaving my son on the curb in front of his dorm last night -and driving 12 hours away from him, or arriving home to his empty bedroom today, knowing that he won't be home until Thanksgiving.

It has been a very tear -filled couple of days..........

The first of the farewell photos.....

It's Monday night and the first group of friends have stopped in to say "goodbye" to Bub.
Paige (who is actually a new friend), Kyle, Grace and Jake.

Kyle, Grace and Jake spent a little bit of time reminiscing about their early years together. Kyle has been a friend since third grade and Grace has been around a long time also.

Lotsa memories of good times.... lotsa laughter in the kitchen tonight.

Everyone is off to college soon.

Jake also had his favorite dinner - prepared by his Nana tonight - Taco Rice.

He stopped in to say "goodbye" to all of his Grandparents.

Pool Fun with Cousin Kaitlin

A warm summer day ........... the family enjoying the pool.

Ummm .... oops. Not everyone enjoys the pool. One family member hates it!

And she is desperate to come inside away from whoever tossed her in!

One Crazy Night

Cousin Kaitlin spent the night at this crazy place...

I'm sure it was quite an experience for her... All of these outdoor "pool" photos were taken sometime after midnight. Amanda, her friend Nina, and Kaitlin were just havin' fun and taking photos.
Pizza, movies, soda, coloring, hoodies and sunglasses were part of the evening. The half chewed shoe and pink pig belong to Coke. She never misses a party.
I gotta wonder what Kaitlin is thinking about all of this.

It was great to visit with out of town relatives and re-unite with those coming "home".

Coke's Update

Coke continues to grow.......

I forgot to feed Coke one morning.........so she picked up her food dish and walked over to
Amanda (who was sitting the couch watching TV) and dropped the empty dish in front of her.

Ummm.... that's MY bed! You have your own!
We're still working on obeying the command "COME". She has issues with this.

My friend Sandy was doggie sitting one day while I was working, and she could not get Coke to come back to the car after a visit to the park. She tried everything including "COME".

I told her later that if Coke fails to obey --- she needs to use this command....

"COCOA, GET YOUR A** OVER HERE NOW!"

I don't know why, but this always works. I have used it to get her off of my neighbor's deck and when she dodges me if I try to catch her. If I am completely frustrated, angry and fed up with her..........she knows it.

Friday Night Cookout

Friday night - Nick and Melissa, Mom, Dad and Teddy came over for a little cookout. We had burgers and watched the Brewers lose to the Cubs. It was just a nice time and we got to visit for a few hours. A nice ending to a long work week.
